The PhD in Nanotechnology is designed to stimulate the value chain, using the foundation of nanoscience to generate groundbreaking scientific knowledge that encourages the development of innovative nanotechnology-based products and/or services, and also identifies entrepreneurial opportunities with nanotechnological bases.
The Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences was designed to provide a unique and solid answer to the country’s need for consolidating top-quality human resources able to conduct relevant research work at national and international levels at research centers, institutions of higher education, and the industrial sector in order to boost productivity and competitiveness of Mexico’s economy.
The Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences meets these needs by training highly specialized researchers with knowledge and skills in the following areas: Mechatronics and Advanced Manufacturing, Clean Energy and Sustainable Use of Water Industrial Engineering and Telecommunications
In the past few decades, Mexico has been characterized as a country with a major economic dimension, privileged geographic position, a young population and openness to globalization, making it an attractive country for investments and achieving a globally relevant industrial manufacturing sector. Companies from this sector constantly require IT and computation capacities that support strategies to enhance their product offering, consolidation and competitiveness, without neglecting their social and environmental responsibilities.
The growing demand for the development and optimization of processes in sectors such as industry, food, agriculture, health, and diagnostics has fostered the incorporation of biotechnological methods for the creation of new products and services. Therefore, developments in the field of biotechnology can benefit a large segment of the population with its vast areas of application. Graduates from the Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Tecnológico de Monterrey are able to work in the academic, scientific, and industrial environments, including the creation of knowledge.
In recent decades, Mexico has been characterized as a country with an important economic dimension, privileged geographical position, young population and openness to globalization, positioning itself as an attractive country for investment and industrial sector achieving global relevance. To take advantage of these features this program of Nanotechnology has been developed to help to create and apply knowledge in the areas of materials science at the nanoscale.
Engineering has been one of the great enablers of progress in modern society, allowing humans to transcend their natural limits. Nowadays, circumstances have changed, with the new challenges arising, such as overpopulation, growing pressures on natural resources, hyper-connected societies, and most importantly, climate change. Given this panorama, there is a growing need to prepare engineers with a broader and more analytical vision, essential for a modern society based on scientific thinking, fact-based decision making, and critical dialogue.
The Master in Engineering Sciences (MCI) seeks to meet this challenge by training researchers and professionals with a strategic vision to identify and solve important problems and the ability to generate innovations.
