This Research Core aims at shaping a prosperous industrial future through multidisciplinary scientific research and technology transfer. This kind of industrial transformation is based on design and innovation, cyber-physical systems, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and human-centric technologies.
He received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 1989 and a Ph.D. from the Ohio State University in 1997. He is faculty member of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Advanced Materiales. His current research interests include medical devices, scaffolds for tissue engineering, additive manufacturing, and laser processing, including international collaborations with groups in the USA, UK, and Spain. His industrial experience includes tooling design for automotive components and machining process development.
