We believe that diversity fuels innovation and that an inclusive community drives the change our world needs.
Advancing
Female Talent in STEM
Ingenia is an initiative
by the School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey that aims to strengthen the participation of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Our purpose is to actively integrate a gender perspective across all areas of the School—from academic training to research and industry collaboration. We work to raise awareness about the importance of equal opportunities and to support women in their academic, professional, and leadership journeys. To achieve this, we:
Conduct research with a gender lens
We promote research that incorporates a gender perspective to address inequalities and create inclusive solutions. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, we foster innovation that uplifts diverse voices and improves outcomes for all communities.
Advise on equity for students, faculty and staff
We support our academic community with guidance on equity, inclusion, and gender-sensitive practices. Our goal is to build a fairer environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Build partnerships with equity-driven allies
We collaborate with national and international networks that advocate for gender equity in STEM. These partnerships amplify our impact, connect us to shared goals, and open new paths to transform the future of science and engineering.
Committee ingenia
Ingenia fosters women’s leadership in engineering and science through a multidisciplinary committee that drives strategies for equitable participation with a strong gender perspective.
From academic support to institutional outreach, Ingenia’s committee is made up of teams that design, promote, and connect initiatives to strengthen women’s skills, visibility, and recognition in STEM. Their work ranges from mentoring and building alliances to organizing events and promoting gender-focused research, all aimed at shaping a more inclusive and equitable scientific community.
Committees & Programs
Ingenia brings together committees and programs focused on driving cultural change, empowering women in STEM, and creating equal opportunities through mentorship, research, collaboration, and institutional action.
Our committees and programs work in synergy to promote gender equity in engineering and science. Each one plays a unique role—designing strategic actions, mentoring women at all stages, forging alliances, and amplifying the visibility of female talent. Together, they build a supportive ecosystem that fosters leadership, strengthens participation in decision-making spaces, and inspires future generations of women in STEM.
Other Initiatives
Ingenia also offers consulting services for companies and internship opportunities that connect students with real-world experiences and promote gender equity in STEM fields.
In addition to its core programs, Ingenia drives initiatives that link academia and industry to foster gender equity. Through consulting services, we advise companies on inclusive practices that support women in STEM. Our internship program connects female students with professional experiences that strengthen their skills and expand their career opportunities. These actions help create more equitable environments inside and beyond the university.
Business Consulting Services
We advise companies on how to create more inclusive environments for women in STEM. Our consulting services offer guidance on gender equity strategies, talent development, and
Internships and Professional Practices
We connect female students with internship and professional practice opportunities that provide real-world experience, skill development, and career growth, helping to bridge the

FAQs: About Ingenia
Ingenia is an initiative launched in 2019 to increase the presence and participation of women in the School of Engineering and Sciences. Created by a group of professors, researchers, and staff members convened by the dean, it aims to strengthen female representation among students, faculty, researchers, and leaders across all campuses.
The initiative is structured into five committees:
- Steering Committee
- Mentorship Committee
- Outreach Committee
- Promotion Committee
- SHE-STEM Chair
Each committee includes professors and staff members from different Tecnológico de Monterrey campuses.
To increase the presence and participation of women in the School of Engineering and Sciences, both students across the 18 engineering programs, organized within four development avenues, and women in our faculty, research, and leadership roles.
The Ingenia initiative operates across all campuses, thanks to the voluntary time and dedication of professors and staff members who contribute to each of the committees that make up this initiative.

Yes, you can participate.
Each committee plays a complementary role within INGENIA: the Steering Committee defines and executes the action plan to empower women in engineering; the Mentoring Committee supports faculty, staff, and students; the Liaison Committee builds internal and external partnerships; the Promotion Committee drives visibility through events and networks; and the SHE-STEM Chair strengthens women’s STEM leadership and research.
You can reach out directly to the national leader and/or the leaders of the committee you wish to join.
Yes, it is possible. If you need guidance or support for the event, contact the national leader and/or the leaders of the corresponding committee.
